I have learned that the hardest days with Jacob are the days when things are not right for him, but we don't know why. The days when seizures come and go, but no true reason why. Days when Jacob is not engaged and close to collapsing from being so tired, but can't find rest or sleep, no matter how heavy his eye lids are.
I have learned that when sleep finally comes to Jacob, we all can finally let a big sigh out.
I have learned to trust that worry deep in my stomach when something is not right, and to keep my seizure alert up on high.
I have learned that I am still recovering from Jacob's very long status epilepticus starting on Halloween last year.
I have learned that hope never leaves you. Tonight I am wishing for a seizure free day tomorrow.
Love, Maria.
