Since we feel that Jacob has had a pretty good year, and we now have this big fancy van, it was time to try it again! Jacob is waking up between 4-5 am every morning right now, but today he did decide to sleep in! We got a late start, but honestly with the day off, it didn't really bother us. On the way up, the kids were watching Ratatouille!
We decided to play it safe driving up the mountains, so we put on Jacob's nasal cannula and the pulse ox, so we could see how he was doing! He did great all the way up to Breckenridge.
When we arrived, we decided to have our picnic lunch in the lounge, since it had started to rain!
With the picnic, Jacob started to seize...luckily with a dose of Keppra, the seizure stopped. He was holding his oxygen and heart rate really well, but it is clear that high altitude and Jacob are not agreeing. We're not sure if Jacob also got altitude sickness.
After the seizure was under control, we took a dip in the pool! It was chilly today, so we couldn't stay in for too long. Jacob dipped his feet in the hot tub to warm up a bit!
Since Jacob was a bit tired from the extra drug, we decided to take it easy. We ended hanging out in the lounge, relaxing, catching up on some reading, and I even took a nap!
I am glad that we gave this a shot, and overall we had a good day together, but I am not so sure if we will be able to attempt more than day trips with Jacob to the mountains!
Happy 4th of July!
